Perhaps you've noticed a void in my posts this calendar year? It's not because I haven't been writing. It's actually because I've been writing MORE. I've written a book! Yep, an entire book, and I'm in process of exploring avenues of how to best share that book with you.

My annual hobby of creating a new outfit each day from a few articles of clothing for the month of March while my family serves on location for Big Break , a student conference. 36 days, 16 hangers. This year's fashion experiment proved more challenging as my wardrobe needed to be more professional. I'm not drawn to trousers and blazers, so I tried to make outfits that were equally respectable, modest, appropriate, and fun. My wardrobe began with staples: tank and leggings in neutral colors (black, cream, navy), jeans, white button down, chambray button down, white sweater, and cream sweater. From there, it gets fun! And my disclaimer as always: I do not idolize clothes, nor what people think of me wearing them. I do enjoy clothes. We are so excited because not only are we having a boy, but also God has provided the rest of our funding for our summer, and a new crib (well, new-to-us-crib).  We are so thankful to everyone who sacrificially donated to fund our summer assignment! We are now able to leave with peace of mind of all our needs being met!  We are prepping the car for our two-day journey, and I'm feeling a little less stressed about fitting everything in.  Unlike other summer housing we've had, this one does not come with sheets, towels, pots & pans, plates & silverware, etc.  We obviously cannot fit our entire kitchen in the back of our car, so I'm trying to simplify and think through creative cooking methods.  It does have a microwave.  Even still, the stress of packing is nothing compared to being under-funded, so we feel so blessed and prepared for the summer! The new crib is a little perk too because the crib we have is "janky"--our term for functional, but almost junky....

Style Saturday: Don't buy it unless you love it!

"Buy less, choose well." ~Vivienne Westwood Kylee, a sweetheart college student who's in Italy for the summer, asked me to be her personal shopper for the day. Sign me up! I took her to my favorite boutique, which displays 5-10-15-20 on the door. (Those numbers are the prices!) Usually when shopping, I find so many things I'd like to buy that it's hard to leave it all behind.. Today, we didn't have that struggle.  Kylee wanted a maxi summer dress. She tried on several, and while they were cute prints, and looked good on the hangers, they just didn't fit quite right. Boutique owner tried to adjust Kylee's dress so that she'll like the fit better. We hit two other larger stores, and they were also a miss. Before leaving, we decided to browse. Kylee found this cute tie tank that she loved and paid 3 bucks for it! Both of us tried on several things, and put them back on the rack. Kylee said, "I like to ask myself before I buy...
