Summer Financial Needs
We leave June 5 for our summer of studies in Colorado, and before we arrive, we must raise the finances for the expenses of our time there--housing, seminary courses, US Staff Conference tuition, and travel expenses. We are still short almost $4,000 at this point. We know that because of the current state of the economy, it is a tough time to find "extra" to give, but if you feel compelled, then you can make a donation at the link to the left "Give to our Ministry". One of the reasons why we love the organization of Campus Crusade for Christ, is that they encourage us to keep learning so we can reach college students to the best of our ability. This summer we will be in Colorado to continue our education in 2 ways: Four weeks of seminary courses, followed by our bi-annual staff conference—where we hear from other Christian leaders and pastors, learn the current strategies for ministering to the ever-changing college population, and be in fellowship with our CCC leadership for unified vision and prayer. In addition to this, we will also be serving on the “Conference Team”, which oversees the behind-the-scenes tasks required to pull off a conference for 10,000+ worldwide missionaries.
Like always, we must raise our funding for the summer. The cost break-down is listed below. Would you please prayerfully consider giving to cover some of the expenses? After a morning of building sand castles at Big Break, Karl explained to Holly that he was going to go work in the afternoon. “Why do you have to go with the college students?”, she asked.
“Well, we are going to tell the other students about Jesus,” he said.
She looked around at the crowd of 18 to 20-yr.-olds, pondered for a minute and then asked incredulously, “But how can they be BIG KIDS and not know about Jesus?”
Then she added, “That’s sad.”
We nodded in her understanding and replied, “Yes, it is. That’s why we’re here.”
